R4 36 Mandrel Foam Cup Inspector

The model R4 36 Mandrel foam cup inspector will automatically and continuously vacuum leak test foam cups at a rate of 250- 300 cups per minute. Other models are available for less input.

The machine consists of a feeding device indexed to a testing wheel with mandrels to suit a particular product and a takeoff device utilizing a blower and clear plastic airvey tubing.

Each cup, on a mandrel with a slight vacuum (2" Hg) must support a 2-1/2 lb. (1-kg) sliding weight for approximately 90 degrees of rotation. Any cups that will leak liquid will also leak vacuum and will not support the weight and will be rejected.

    Utilities requirements:
  • Compressed air:
    • 80 PSI (5 bar), with consumption of 30 ft3 (0.85 m3) per minute.
    • Compressed air valves are "Numatic" Brand unless otherwise 
      specified.
  • Electrical:
    • 480V, 3 Phase, 5A
    • 240V, 3 phase, 10A
    • 240V, 1 Phase, 15A
    • Control (supplied by internal transformer):
      • 120V, 60 Hertz, 3A
      • 240V, 50/60 Hertz, 3A
  • Other voltages available on request.
C38 Conveyor
The model C series will automatically and continuously orient and convey foam cups from 1 to 4 molding machines to an airvey tube to an R4 inspector or a P230/5F packaging machine.

Anti-static devices remove static electricity and an automatic stop system prevents product loss in the event of a jam at the entrance to the airvey tube.
